1.- Regulations
1.1.- Copa Queretaro 2008 will be under the norms of FIFA and the Federación Mexicana de Futbol.
1.2.- All interested teams, education centers, private institutions, associations, clubs… etc. may participate.
1.3.- Open to boys and girls.
2.- Rules of competition
2.1.- The participating teams will be divided into groups of 4 or 5 depending on the number of teams per category.
2.2.- The classification of the teams will be determined according to points obtained during the first phase of the tournament.
2.3.- The number of the teams qualified to advance to the second phase of the tournament will be determined by the number of teams in each group in each category.
2.4.- In the case of an impasse in points between two or more teams, the positions will be decided by the following:
- The difference in goals
- The greater number of total goals scored
- The result of the game between tied teams
- Penalty kicks according to the norms of FIFA
2.5.- Points per game:
- Game won = 3 points
- Tied game = 1 point
- Game lost = 0 points
- Game won by default = 3 points and two goals (2-0)
2.6.- The games in the final phase will be direct elimination (there will be no ties or extra time)
2.7.- Should a tie occur during regulation time there will be a series of penalty kicks, five per team. If the tie persists the penalty kicks will continue, one per team until tie is broken.
2.8.- Duration of the games:
Boys teams:
- Two periods of 35 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-15
- Two periods of 30 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-13, U-12, U-11 and U-10
- Two periods of 25 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-9
Girls teams:
- Two periods of 35 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-17, U-15
- Two periods of 30 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-13
- Two periods of 25 minutes and a break of 10 minutes – U-11
